Trust & transparency

Affiliate Disclosure

Grip & Gait earns commission when you buy through links on this site. Here is exactly how that works, what it does not change, and why our prices behave the way they do.

The short version

Grip & Gait is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

When you click a buy button here and purchase something, we receive a percentage of the sale. It costs you nothing extra — the price is the same as it would be if you had gone to Amazon directly.

How our links work

Every product link on this site goes through a redirect at /go/ rather than pointing straight at the retailer. That indirection exists so the destination for a product lives in one configuration file instead of being written into forty pages — which means if a product moves, or we join a different program later, it is a one-line change rather than a site-wide link audit.

Our Amazon Associates tracking ID is t5fitness-20. Every outbound commercial link carries rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", which is what Google’s link-spam policy requires of a monetized link, and opens in a new tab.

Amazon is currently the only retailer we earn from. We link nothing else on a commission basis — not because other programs do not exist, but because we have not joined any, and wiring tracking for a program we have not joined would be dishonest. If that changes, this page changes with it.

How our prices work, and why they sometimes vanish

Every price on this site is pulled live from Amazon’s own product data and stamped with the date it was checked. The most recent refresh was July 24, 2026, across 44 products.

No price on this site has ever been typed by hand. That is enforced structurally rather than by discipline: the product records that drive these pages have no price field at all, so there is nowhere for an author to put one.

Prices also expire on their own after 48 hours. If the refresh stops running, every number on the site disappears and the buttons revert to “Check price on Amazon”. The failure mode is silence rather than a stale number presented as current — which is both what Amazon’s operating agreement requires and, more to the point, the only version of this we would be comfortable with.

Prices change at the retailer without notice, and the price you see at checkout is the one that counts.

What commission does not change

Rankings, scores and recommendations are not for sale, and commission rate plays no part in any of them. That is easy to assert and harder to demonstrate, so here is the demonstration — all of it is on the site right now:

  • Our top pick in the massage gun category is one of the cheapest guns we cover, because it is the only one whose maker publishes the specifications that matter.
  • Our plantar fasciitis page tells you the best-evidenced intervention is a free stretch, above the product recommendations.
  • Our gun versus roller comparison tells you a published study found neither reduced pain more than resting.
  • Every roundup carries a mandatory “skip this” entry naming a product not to buy — frequently the most expensive one on the page.
  • Several symptom pages open by telling you to see a clinician rather than buy anything.

If commission were driving the recommendations, none of that would be there. The reasoning behind each of those decisions is on how we research.

Where the disclosure appears

A disclosure line renders above the first affiliate link on every commercial page — not only in the footer, because a footer-only disclosure is not compliant. Every buy button also carries an #ad marker and a link back to this page.

Trust pages — this one, how we research, editorial policy, about and the medical disclaimer — carry no affiliate links and no buy buttons at all. A methodology page that tries to sell you something has undermined the thing it exists to establish.

Product images

Product photographs come from Amazon’s product data and are served from Amazon’s own image servers, which is the route the Associates program permits. We do not scrape or re-host them. Editorial photography elsewhere on the site is licensed stock; credits are recorded in our repository.
