Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun

Publishes amplitude, stall force, speed range and noise. Its tracked third-party Amazon price was already sitting at its all-time low in September 2026, so there is little for November to improve on.

Hyperice Normatec 3 Recovery System

Hyperice Normatec 3 Recovery System

Hyperice took $200 off its top Normatec in the 2025 brand sale, and the Amazon low on this one landed on Prime Day 2024, not Black Friday. Wrong week to pay full price, and the wrong system for most home buyers regardless.

The state of play

The 2026 dates: Thanksgiving is Thursday 26 November, Black Friday is Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November. Amazon has not announced its 2026 event window as of this writing; in 2025 its Black Friday Week ran from 20 November through Cyber Monday on 1 December, which is why several tracked price lows below fall on 20 November rather than on the Friday itself.

This page is organized around one question: for each class of recovery tool, does the evidence say wait or buy now? The evidence is two things - press coverage of what the brands actually did in 2025, and the third-party price history of the exact products we recommend. Both are linked. Where we could not find evidence, we say that rather than guess.

What historically discounts, and what does not

The two premium brands run real sales - on their own sites

Therabody and Hyperice both ran documented Black Friday sales in 2025. TechRadar’s 26 November 2025 coverage put Therabody at up to 35% off sitewide, with $100 off the Theragun Pro Plus, $50 off the Theragun Sense and $40 off the Theragun Mini Plus on Therabody’s own site. Yahoo Shopping’s 21 November 2025 coverage listed Hyperice at $80 off the Hypervolt 2 Pro, $30 off the Hypervolt Go 2, $200 off the Normatec Elite, $80 off the Normatec Go and $20 off the Vyper 3.

Two honest caveats. First, those were the brands’ direct-to-consumer sales; Amazon pricing on the same products does not always follow, and this site links to Amazon. Second, a percentage “up to” figure describes the best case across a whole catalog, not what the gun you want will be reduced by. We are not going to turn 2025’s numbers into a 2026 forecast, because that would be a prediction dressed up as a fact.

On Amazon, the lows for premium guns have mostly landed in June, July and October

This is the finding that changes the “wait for Black Friday” default. We checked the third-party price history for every headline product we recommend, and for the premium and mid-priced guns the tracked all-time low was rarely in late November:

The reading: for these products, the Amazon price you would have paid on Black Friday was not the year’s best. That does not mean November 2026 will repeat the pattern - it means “wait for Black Friday” is an assumption, not a rule, and the live price beside each pick above is the number to judge against.

The budget gun that did move in November

The TOLOCO EM26 is the exception in the gun category: its tracked all-time low was 20 November 2025, the day Amazon’s Black Friday Week opened. Cheap, high-volume Amazon-native listings are where the event discounts have historically shown up, and this is the one product class where waiting has a documented payoff.

The Bob and Brad C2 is the opposite case. Its tracked third-party low was set on 16 March 2026 and the September 2026 price matched it. A product already sitting at its all-time low has no Black Friday upside worth waiting eleven weeks for; if the live price above still shows a struck-through list price, that is the deal.

The cheap tools barely discount, because there is nothing to discount

Foam rollers and massage balls have flat histories. The Amazon Basics roller’s tracked low dates from April 2017; the TriggerPoint GRID’s Amazon-sold low from June 2017; the Kieba lacrosse balls’ low from May 2025 with the current price within a couple of dollars of it. These are the tools we tell most people to buy first, and the honest advice is to buy them whenever you need them. A sale on a foam roller saves you the price of a coffee.

Where the price has gone UP for the holidays

This is the part no deals page tells you. Three products in our catalog recorded their tracked high in the run-up to the 2025 holidays: the GENIANI heating pad (Amazon-sold high on 23 November 2025), the Foot Rubz ball (Amazon-sold high on 17 December 2025) and the Theragun Relief (third-party high on 11 December 2025). Heat sells when it is cold and small gifts sell in December. If a heating pad or a stocking-stuffer is on your list, the history says buy it in September or October.

Premium massage guns (Theragun, Hypervolt)Wait, if buying directBoth brands ran documented sitewide sales in 2025. On Amazon, though, the tracked lows fell on Prime Day and October events, so judge the live price against that, not the calendar.
Budget massage guns (C2, TOLOCO, RENPHO Active)Buy now (C2) / wait (TOLOCO)The C2 was already at its tracked low in September 2026. The TOLOCO's low was 20 November 2025, so it is the one budget gun where November has paid.

Compression bootsWait for the premium; buy the sequential competitor nowHyperice discounted Normatec by $200 in its 2025 sale and the Normatec 3 Amazon low was Prime Day 2024. The FIT KING's low was May 2026 - no November pattern.
TENS unitsBuy nowCheap, and the AUVON's low was April 2025 while the TENS 7000's high was August 2025. No holiday pattern in either direction.

How to read a Black Friday massage gun deal

When the deals do go live, three checks separate a real one from a listing feature:

  1. Is the “was” price a price anyone paid? Amazon’s list price on a budget gun can sit far above anything the product has sold for. The TOLOCO’s tracked high is from January 2023, several times its typical price since. A 30% discount off a number nobody paid is not 30% off.
  2. Does the maker publish the numbers that decide depth? A discount does not add amplitude or stall force to a gun that never published them. The cheap vs expensive comparison shows which brands publish and which do not; a sale changes nothing on that table.
  3. Is the discounted model the current generation? Black Friday is when outgoing generations get cleared. That can be a good buy - a Hypervolt Go 2 at $30 off was in Hyperice’s 2025 sale, and Hyperice has since retired the Go 2’s product page in favor of the Go 3 - but only if you know that is what you are buying. Our Hypervolt vs Hypervolt Go page covers what changed between generations.

If you are buying a gift rather than a deal

The deals question and the gift question are different. A gift needs to land for a person you know; a deal needs to beat a price you can check. The gift guides are written for the buyer who does not know the category: for runners, for gym-goers, for parents and grandparents, and by budget at under $50 and under $150. Every pick on those pages is a product this site already covers in depth, so the reasoning behind each one is a click away.

Every pick, in full

Specs below are the manufacturer’s own published figures, each linked to the page it came from. Where a maker does not publish a number, the table says so and names the page we checked — that absence is information too.

Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun

The only gun in this roundup whose maker publishes all four numbers that decide whether it reaches the muscle — amplitude, stall force, speed range and noise — and the stall-force figure is higher than the premium units that hide theirs.

What it gets right

  • Publishes amplitude, stall force, speed range and noise — the two market leaders publish none of the first three
  • Published stall force of over 44 lb is higher than the figure Therabody publishes for the Prime
  • 1.5 lb is light enough to hold overhead against your own shoulder without your arm giving out first
  • FSA/HSA eligible, which quietly makes it cheaper again for a lot of buyers

What it does not

  • 10 mm amplitude is genuinely shorter than a 16 mm premium stroke — that difference is real for glutes and thick back muscle
  • No app, no pressure-feedback screen, no ecosystem
  • Five fixed speeds rather than a continuous range

TOLOCO Massage Gun (EM26)

The cheapest gun worth owning, and the ten-attachment box is not the selling point the listing thinks it is — but if the alternative is not buying one at all, this is a real tool.

What it gets right

  • Cheap enough that it is not a decision
  • Ten attachments, of which you will use two
  • Light enough for self-application

What it does not

  • No published amplitude or stall force from the manufacturer
  • Build quality is what the price implies — treat it as a two-year tool
  • Loud relative to premium units

Amazon Basics High-Density Foam Roller (18 in) product photo

Amazon Basics High-Density Foam Roller (18 in)

A dense foam cylinder does the same mechanical job as a textured roller for a fraction of the money, and for a first roller that is the correct purchase.

What it gets right

  • Does the actual mechanical work — sustained pressure across a broad contact area
  • Nothing to break; no core, no seams, no electronics
  • 18 in is long enough to lie along your spine, which the 13 in rollers are not

What it does not

  • Flat surface spreads pressure rather than concentrating it
  • Solid EVA softens over a few years of heavy use

RENPHO Foot Massager with Heat

Compression plus kneading plus heat in one enclosed unit, and FSA eligible — the compression element is what separates it from a machine that only presses on the sole.

What it gets right

  • Air compression works the whole foot, not only the contact points
  • FSA/HSA eligible
  • Enclosed design holds heat better than an open-top unit

What it does not

  • Enclosed means you cannot pull your foot out instantly
  • Bulky to store

GENIANI Electric Heating Pad

Moist-heat capable with an auto-shutoff, which is the specification that decides whether a heating pad is safe to use lying down — and lying down is when you want it.

What it gets right

  • Auto shutoff — the safety feature that matters if you fall asleep on it
  • Moist-heat option penetrates better than dry
  • Machine-washable cover

What it does not

  • Corded, so your position is fixed
  • Smaller than the XXL pads

Hyperice Normatec 3 Recovery System

The reference system in the category, and also the one whose price gap over a sequential competitor buys refinement rather than a different mechanism — which is why it is our skip for a home buyer.

What it gets right

  • The most refined pressure control and the quietest pump in the category
  • The system most likely to still be supported in five years

What it does not

  • Several times the price of boots that inflate sequentially the same way
  • The added refinement does not change the mechanism

Common questions

Do massage guns go on sale for Black Friday?

The premium brands do run sales: TechRadar documented Therabody at up to 35% off sitewide on 26 November 2025, and Yahoo Shopping documented Hyperice at $80 off the Hypervolt 2 Pro on 21 November 2025. On Amazon, however, the tracked all-time lows for the Theragun Prime, Hypervolt 2, Hypervolt Go 3, Ekrin B37v2 and RENPHO Active all fell on Prime Day or October events rather than in late November.

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a foam roller?

No. Foam rollers and massage balls have flat price histories - the Amazon Basics roller’s tracked low dates from 2017 and the TriggerPoint GRID’s from the same year. Any sale saves the price of a coffee, and the tool is one most people should own first.

When is Black Friday 2026?

Friday 27 November 2026, the day after Thanksgiving on Thursday 26 November. Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November 2026. Amazon has not announced its 2026 event window as of September 2026; in 2025 its Black Friday Week ran from 20 November to 1 December.

Is Black Friday or Prime Day better for recovery tool deals?

For the Amazon-sold premium and mid-priced massage guns we track, Prime Day has been better: the Theragun Prime, Hypervolt Go 3, Ekrin B37v2, RENPHO Active and Theragun Relief all recorded their tracked lows during Prime Day 2026 (23 to 26 June), and the Normatec 3 during Prime Day 2024. The budget TOLOCO gun is the counter-example, with its low on the opening day of Black Friday Week 2025.

Will you post the deals here when they go live?

Yes. This page is updated when Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals go live in November 2026, using the same rule as every page on the site: prices come only from Amazon’s live data, stamped with the date checked. We do not post predicted prices or deals we cannot verify.
